EVENT DESCRIPTION
Since the discovery of the V617F mutation of tyrosine kinase JAK2 in 2005, other mutations have been described as specific for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) in JAK2 eons 12, 13, 14 (in addition to c1849G>T V617F) and 15, in the exon 10 of MPL, and in the exon 9 of the CALR gene. Moreover, other rare mutations have been described in the JAK2 and MPL genes.
EVENT CONTENT
- To acquire competences in the various techniques designed to detect the main MPN mutations. The training school is organized in two sessions:
- Morning plenary session/lectures: Theory of the techniques.
- Afternoon practical session: applicants will perform data analysis, assisted by experts.
- To train in NGS data analysis, moving from raw data to documented diagnostic proposal.
- To get the latest information on the different mutations leading to MPN or to transformation.
- To develop cooperation between participants and hopefully, generate new, original studies.
